Where does the converter get its prices?
From CoinGecko’s market data: one price per coin, drawn from many exchanges rather than from a single one. The converter fetches new prices every five minutes and shows when it last did.
Is this the price I get on an exchange?
Not exactly. Every exchange has its own order book, so its price can be a little higher or lower, and it charges a trading fee on top. The Compare tab on the Markets page shows the price of the largest coins on six exchanges side by side.
Which coins can I convert?
The 100 largest coins by market cap, to and from US dollars. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, BNB, Dogecoin and Cardano are one click away; pick any other coin from the list.
Can I share a conversion?
Yes. The page address keeps the coin, for example /converter?coin=eth for Ethereum, so a link opens the converter on the same coin.
